Zo Popi —
“Do It Right Now”
(Jewellery Woodbox edition)
The album “Do It Right Now” is a close collaboration between renowned norwegian jewelry artist Sigurd Bronger, designer Håvard Winther Gjelseth and handyman Eirik Sevaldsen.
The jewelry art piece “Moodindicator” of a clock on the back of the album is a direct translation of the album title, while the jewelry art piece “Take off” of a zeppeliner (just about to take off) is a more subtle, if even psychedelic, interpretation of the title, that goes hand in hand with the music of Zo Popi, and its Zappa references.
The metallic background color on the back side emphasising the materiality of the jewelry continues into the inside of the outer sleeve, while the red signal color of the art piece on the front continues into the inlay sheet with the lyrics, which also features the hand drawn sketches for the artpiece.
To build on the story of jewelry, we have created a unique, black woodbox, with magnetic closing mechanism and a silver plaque for numbering. A box worthy of jewelry, in other words. The silver plaque is numbered by a 101-year-old goldsmith by hand, and debossed into the material. Inside the box we also find a t-shirt, with a stylized, illustrated version of the front motif, silk printed on a blue sky cotton. The box is silk printed in red with the same motif on the front.
